REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, Damascus - Syria blasted a vote by the Council of the United Nations (UN) regardinghuman rights violations by security forces in that country. Resolution of the UN Human Rights Council was unfair and based on incorrect information from opponents of the regime in Damascus.

According to Foreign Ministry statement broadcast on Syrian news agency SANA, Syria call vote resolution was passed that is not fair. Resolution has been prepared earlier by the parties unhappy with Syria.

''The vote was conducted by an inquiry commission report that encouraged political motivation and is based on false information spread by parties outside of Syria and the elements of a press that is not honest, "said kemeenterian it.

At an emergency meeting, the council passed a resolution strongly condemns the violations of systematic and widespread human rights and fundamental freedoms by the Syrian authorities. For Damascus, the council's decision was intended to prolong the crisis and deliver a message of support to armed opponents of the regime.

The meeting in Geneva was called upon to address the findings of the Commission of Inquiry which said security forces have committed crimes against humanity to quell dissent since March.
