TRIBUNNEWS.COM, HOUSTON - United States Space Agency (NASA) astronaut candidates introduced their eight, Tuesday (08/20/2013).
They also launched a roadmap of the future of space exploration, in a near-Earth asteroids, the Moon, and Mars.
Eight members of NASA astronauts in 2013 consisted of four men and four women. They were aged between 34 to 39 years, were selected from 6,300 applicants across the U.S..
They were introduced to the media in attendance at the Johnson Space Center in Houston.
NASA says they will use the opportunity to fly a new commercial space transportation, which is currently being developed. They will also carry out the first human landing missions to asteroids and Mars.
In the next two years, they will be trained extensively in the space center and remote locations, as preparation for low Earth orbit missions. (*)
