Evidence that Mars has water has been widely publicized.

CAPE CANAVERAL, KOMPAS.com - Evidence that Mars has water has been widely publicized. However, is there any evidence that Mars does have water to drink and to support life? Recent findings said, "Yes".Space vehicle Aeronautics and Space Administration United States (NASA), Opportunity, analyzing clay formed in a non-acidic water are potentially suitable for the existence of living beings.
Opportunity landed on Mars in 2004 to investigate whether Mars once had water in the past. Opportunity with his brother, Spirit, who "gave up" three years ago found the rocks affected by water with high acidity.
Indeed, on Earth, there are bacteria that live in acidic environments. However, scientists believe, however, that neutral water environments is a major requirement for the creation of life.
"The weight of the acid environment is very difficult, we believe, to the formation of pre-biotic compounds, chemical compounds that can trigger the formation of life," said Steve Squyres of Cornell University, Opportunity and Spirit led mission.
Analysis indicates neutral water. "The privilege of the present invention is that the findings by Opportunity showed a pH neutral environment with the early history of Mars," Squyres said, as quoted by Reuters on Friday (06/07/2013).
"What we have now is a very different chemistry.'s Water you can drink. This is the strongest evidence of the existence of neutral water found by Opportunity," said Squyres.
To find evidence of this neutral water, Opportunity had spent three years in order toward Endeavour crater. There, Opportunity found a small stone called Esperance, which is then analyzed.
Opportunity needs seven attempts to successfully uncover what's in Esperance stone. Unlike Curiosity landing on Mars last year, Opportunity did not have a drill and lab onboard. Opportunity Esperance analyze rocks and find aluminum-rich clay, signs that water once existed on Mars neutral.
Opportunity findings are reinforced by the findings Curiosity also found a neutral water and other elements that support life.
Opportunity has continued to crawl towards the south along Endeavour Crater, towards the rocks preserve evidence allegedly Mars transition from wet and warm environment in the past to be cold and dry today.
Scientists expect, Opportunity can get the rock on August 1, 2013, before the Martian southern hemisphere experiencing winter.
